Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - A December 3 marquee match-up between 2009 champion El Salvador and 2008 champion Mexico was the highlight of a draw held earlier today that revealed the groups for the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship, December 1-5. The rivals were drawn into Group A and are joined by Canada and Jamaica.

The United States, which failed to qualify for the last two World Cups, was drawn into Group B along with Costa Rica, Bahamas and Guatemala.

The five-day competition will be played for the third-consecutive year at Unidad Deportivo Agustin Flores in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and will kick-off next Wednesday with a slate of four matches.

The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals on December 4. The semifinal winners will qualify for the Beach Soccer World Cup in Italy September 1-11, 2011.

The CONCACAF title game is set for Sunday, December 5.

The event will be streamed online for free on CONCACAF TV at www.concacaf.com.

When El Salvador and Mexico met in group play last year, the host came away a 4-1 winner. However, El Salvador went on to win its semifinal match against the United States (5-3), while Mexico fell on penalties at the same stage to Costa Rica, 2-1, after a tie in regulation (2-2).

In the final, El Salvador doubled Costa Rica 6-3 and both teams advanced to the World Cup in Dubai.
