Galeria Pacifico and Learn Vallarta Collaborate on Malecón Sculpture Walks

Puerto Vallarta Sculpture Walks are held every Tuesday from mid-November until mid-April at 9:30 am and 5:30 pm starting at the Millennium sculpture on the north end of the Malecón.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - One of the delightful and informative experiences for visitors and locals alike are the Malecón Sculpture Walking Tours. Created four years ago by Galeria Pacifico owner Gary Thompson, and offered during this past summer by Learn Vallarta when Gary does not conduct them, these once a week walks continue to grow in popularity.

Consequently, Galeria Pacifico and Learn Vallarta have come together in a collaborative arrangement to offer two walking tours per week. Both happen every Tuesday from mid-November until mid-April at 9:30 am and 5:30 pm starting at the Millennium sculpture on the north end of the Malecón in front of Hotel Rosita.

The tours last about two hours and end up at Galeria Pacifico, where either a presentation by a local sculptor or information on the art history of Mexico and the PV art scene are given. Complimentary drinks are available along with the opportunity to view the gallery.

Gary is enthused about cooperating with Learn Vallarta and comments, "People sometimes ask me why I don't give the tours in the early evening. I personally like the soft light and freshness of the mornings, but I also don't have the time and staff backup available in the evening."

"Since the sculpture walk is one of many walks offered by Learn Vallarta, this collaboration was a natural for us as well," stated Marc Nissenson, president of Learn Vallarta.

Galeria Pacifico has been in business for twenty three years and is an active participant and promoter of the Wednesday evening Art Walks in the Historic Zone of downtown Vallarta. It is the second oldest gallery in the city and has been described in the prestigious Frommer's Guide to Mexico as "one of the best galleries in Mexico."

Learn Vallarta is only a year old, but the knowledge and enthusiasm of its owners, Marc Nissenson and Sandra Cesca, have helped put them on the map as a small business helping folks get immersed in the culture and daily activities of Puerto Vallarta, especially for anyone considering making Vallarta a full or part time home.
