Mexico City Police Remove Anti-Drug Cartel Banner

Mexico City — A Mexican anti-crime group is criticizing the capital's city government after police pulled down a banner urging people to unite against drug gangs.
Drug cartels frequently hang threatening messages from highway overpasses in parts of Mexico, and police usually also remove them.
The capital has largely been free of the cartel banners. But a group known as "Mexicans Unite" hung its own banner from an overpass in Mexico City this week saying: "If organized crime is organized, why aren't we?"
City police took the banner down after a few minutes. The group called that "a shame."
The Public Safety Department said Friday it objected that the banners were unsigned and proposed no specific action.
