A bull weighing well over one thousand pounds jumped over the barrier that separates the bullring from the grandstands during a bullfight Sunday in Mexico City. No spectators were injured, and the bull returned to the ring moments later. (Nov. 16 - Associated Press)
Mexico City - Bullfighting fans and matadors ran for their lives when a 500-pound bull headed straight for a fence and jumped a ring-side barrier.

In the shocking incident caught on video, the bull jumps over the barrier and into the stands, before crashing into the second row of seats at the Plaza de Toros in Mexico City.

The fans were forced to flee, but a picador - the man responsible for spearing the animals during the fights - was hurt.

In the mayhem, a man can be seen jumping into the ring to escape the engaged bull, then leap straight back when he realizes it is about to re-emerge.

The animal returned to the ring and the fight continued as planned.

The incident is similar to one that took place in August in Tafalla, Spain, when a bull jumped an even bigger barrier and started to rampage through the crowd. At least 40 people were injured in that incident.
