Los Bambinos First Show - Standing Room Only at Viva Bar

December 18, 2010

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Los Bambinos took the Viva Bar stage on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 to a standing room only audience! Dressed in sparkling new vests they charmed the audience with their music and their genial personalities. Oldies, covers of favorites and original songs had the audience not wanting the boys to even take a break.

But break they did and when they returned from the short intermission they were resplendent in gold shirts and golden voices. Having been promised a surprise guest by M.C. and best gal of Lazzaro, Christina, we were thrilled when Jorge Acosta burst upon the stage and rendered us all rocking to his rendition of Jail House Rock.

Los Bambinos and their new drummer, Enrique, accompanied him and the audience roared for an encore. The handsome troubadour rewarded us with the crowd favorite, La Bamba! As proof of the popularity of this song made famous by the young Ritchie Valens, the audience knew all the words and joined in to render the room jumping.

The show just got better and better as Los Bambinos kept the room jumping with their rock and roll or emotional with their love songs in English and Spanish. For the first time, each of the brothers, Carlos, Lazzaro, Immer and Giorgio proved their mettle with beautiful solos, as well as their incredible harmony that must come about because they are brothers!

They ended the show with fantastic covers of Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons as done by the Jersey Boys who tell Vali’s story on Broadway. I have seen that show 3 times and cannot get enough of it. I love the music, the moves and the memories those songs evoke. Who can resist Sherry or Big Girls Don’t Cry?

Los Bambinos will be performing every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. at Viva Bar on Olas Altas. Tickets are $200 pesos in advance or $250 pesos at the door. For your tickets, email them at losbambinos.vallarta(at)gmail.com, or call them at (322) 222-6412. Husband and I will be there for the Tuesday, December 21st show. Will you?
