Christmas Spirit at the Puerto Vallarta Farmer's Market

Puerto Vallarta's Old Town Farmer's Market spread festive cheer this year by involving the Market vendors in a "best decorated Christmas table" contest with voters being the customers themselves. Vallarta's community Christmas spirit was enormous with close to 3,000 customers filling the Market on both contest days doing their Christmas shopping and voting for their favourite table.

The first weeks' winners were Augistino, Miguel and Alessandro from BELLA NAPOLI, Italian Eatery. Not only do these three Italian guys attract a lot of attention in the market with their great spirit and high energy, their original and creative Christmas chili pepper tree also attracted a lot of votes. Their dream as young teenagers was to move to Mexico to share their delicious Italian creations, and Puerto Vallartans are lucky to be part of this dream. If you like "real" Italian food from "real" Italian guys, check out their eatery located at #11 Augustine Rodriguez in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Bella Napoli is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm. For more information or home delivery, call 044-322-105-2335.

The second weeks' winners were Sylvie Scopazzo and Adriana Fontela from BARKER'S CHOICE, with their 100% natural dog biscuits. A favourite amongst the many dogs that visit the Market, their table was picked by dog and non-dog owners alike. Packed with edible decorations, Santa on a motorcycle and Sylvie dressed as if it was snowing outside, they are the newest sensation in Vallarta for canine healthy snacks. Their claim to fame is a dog owner confiding that her dog turned his nose up to a hot dog, choosing a BARKER'S CHOICE biscuit instead! Sylvie and Adriana can be found at the Farmer's Market every Saturday and don't be surprised to see Sylvie walking the streets handing out doggie biscuit samples! If you would like to place a biscuit order, you can email them at: barkerschoice(at)hotmail.com

With close to 60 growers and producers offering a great variety of local produce, artisan foods and crafts, locals and tourists alike are making the Old Town Farmers Market the thing to do every Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. The Market is located at Pulpito #127, across from Coco's Restaurant in the Zona Romantica. For more information visit us on online at OldTownFM.com or follow us on Facebook HERE.
