Puerto Vallarta's new Mental Health Clinic is the second clinic of its kind in the city. The center’s aim is to benefit the well-being of Puerto Vallarta’s general population.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Puerto Vallarta’s Mayor, Salvador González Reséndiz inaugurated the new “Mental Health Clinic” located in the Floresta neighborhood, making this the second clinic of its kind in the city.

This new health center will offer more alternatives to people who suffer recurrent episodes of depression, anxiety, obsessive/compulsive attacks, post-traumatic stress and alcohol abuse to name a few. The center’s aim is to benefit the well being of Vallarta’s general population.

This is the seventh center to open within the state of Jalisco and will be open to the public in need of medical treatment, with specialized supervision provided by an array of psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers.

As an notable fact: Jalisco is stricken with diverse mental health conditions; amongst the most common are marital disturbances, ‘dysfunctional’ families, domestic violence, unemployment and socio-economic problems that can lead to evolve into mental diseases.

Attending the cutting of the ribbon ceremony were Dr. Alfonso Petersen, from Jalisco’s Secretary of Health; Dr. Rafael Núñez, Director of the VIII Health Jurisdiction; and Dr. Daniel Ojeda, Director of Jalisco’s Institute of Mental Health.
