August 15, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Last month, City Hall and local authorities from Puerto Vallarta's tourism sector reinstated the tourism police program in hopes of providing a better sense of security to local residents as well as national and international tourists.

This month an important safety course is being held in Vallarta from August 15th-19th. The orientation encompasses a specific subject to our destination, tourism safety; representative from all three government branches were invited to the forum.

Members from the Organization of American States (OAS), Mexico’s Exterior Relations Bureau, Puerto Vallarta’s City Hall and Tourism Trust are participating in this important event.

Kroll safety consultants will introduce a presentation including topics like safety in the tourism industry, communication, hotel and landmark security, and risk analysis. The course will also feature practice drills.

The goal of this newest set of safety courses is to strengthen Puerto Vallarta’s safety department and build an alliance between the public and private sectors.
