September 15, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Thursday, September 15th beginning at 3:00 pm, parts of El Centro will be closed to vehicle traffic. Morelos and Juarez Streets will remain closed until around 2:00 pm on Friday, September 16, after the civic-military parade.

Vehicular traffic from north to south will be diverted to Mexico or Peru Avenues, up to Jesus Langarica Street above Parque Hidalgo. From south to north, vehicles can enter from Libertad and return on Morelos.

Cars will not be permitted to park on Hidalgo, Guerrero and Galeana Streets, so for these two days, citizens are asked not to park their cars on those streets as they will be towed.

Finally, the City of Puerto Vallarta invites everyone to enjoy the Independence Day festivities in the downtown area, and to remember that glass bottles, cans or any sharp objects that may endanger the safety of those attending the traditional celebration will not be permitted in the city center.
