November 28, 2011

On November 25th, a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the Malecón, where a series of daily events are taking place through the end of the month.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - For years, Puerto Vallarta's Malecón has been representing one of Mexico's most popular tourist destinations both nationally and internationally, making appearances in countless family vacation photos and on the big screen in numerous Hollywood films.

In May of this year the city began remodeling the Malecón, and even before the work had been completed it was generating a significant buzz in the worldwide media. For example, one of the United States' most significant tourism industry online magazines, Travel Age West, recently recognized the importance of the downtown area's 'facelift' in a feature article entitled Puerto Vallarta Malecón Gets a Makeover.

Wanting the refurbishment of the boardwalk to be distinguished by the high quality of its structure and finishes, extreme care was taken in every single detail of the construction process to ensure that Puerto Vallarta has a first-class project. As technology is a big part of daily life, the work would not be complete without offering Internet access to both visitors and locals, who can now use their mobile devices, lap top and other high-tech gadgets in the downtown area for up to 2 hours - free of charge.
