December 15, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On December 12, city councilors in session at City Hall delivered a proposal for the 2012 expenditure budget of the municipality of Puerto Vallarta.

One point, which was approved by absolute majority, was a wage increase of 4.2% for municipal employees for the next year. Due to the austerity plan this wage increase will not apply to department heads, assistant principals, directors, senior officers, governors or president.

In addition 116 new police officers, recent police academy graduates will be hired to strengthen surveillance in Puerto Vallarta starting on January 1, 2012.
