La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Farmers' Market Reopens November 4

October 17, 2012

La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico - The Sunday Farmer's Market in La Cruz will begin their third season on November 4, 2012. Open Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm, the market is located next to the Fish Market at the northeast end of the Riviera Nayarit La Cruz Marina.

To participate in the market, vendors must make or grow their wares themselves, so everything is local and sustainable. Organic produce that couldn't be any fresher, tasty bakery items ranging from foccacia to empanadas, and handmade crafts are just a few of the items offered each week.

More than a hundred producers of food, jewelry, clothing, and handicrafts are ready to sell their wares in the market's beautiful sea side atmosphere that's filled not only with vendor stands but also with live music, children's workshops and lots of friendly folks.

And speaking of friendly folks, the Amigos de La Cruz table needs a few more volunteers. According to member Lori Wilson, "For two seasons, I had a blast working at the table almost weekly and last season coordinated our amazing team of volunteers. This season, I'm ready for a break, but we can't have a table without volunteers. This is a great opportunity to be part of the La Cruz community, meet your neighbors and make new friends."

Interested? Lori can be contacted by email at loriwilson36(at)gmail.com.

Though only a few years old, the La Cruz Farmers Market has earned an enthusiastic group of regulars. Don't miss out: visit the La Cruz Market some Sunday soon.
