Aguas Abiertas Riviera Nayarit NadoSeguro Competition

Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle will host open water swim competitions of up to 5K during the Third Annual Aguas Abiertas Riviera Nayarit, scheduled to take place on April 27, 2013.

La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico - 500 swimmers in all categories are expected to participate in the third edition of the Aguas Abiertas Riviera Nayarit, scheduled to take place on April 27, 2013 at Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

Young swimmers of all ages and in all categories can test their resistance in this competition, with 7 to 20 year-olds making a 500 m lap; kids ages 11 and 12 swimming 1.250 km.; swimmers ages 13 and 14 competing in the 2.5 km swim, and amateurs 15 years and older swimming the 3.75 km in the required time of under 2 hours.

The main competition will be a 5k race for professional swimmers with a time limit of 1 hour, 20 min. In 2011, two competitors from Guadalajara won this race: Manuel Chiu, with a time of 1:04:28, and Andrea Gutiérrez, who finished in 1:12:13. In 2012, Alan Rojas Sagrero, timing 1:01:33, and Lizeth Rueda Santos, at 01:03:26, were the champions.

The public is invited to watch the April 27th competitions from the beach next to Marina Riviera Nayarit at La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, which has hosted the Aguas Abiertas Riviera Nayarit Nadoseguro for the last 2 years.
