Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The About.com Readers' Choice Awards highlight the best in hundreds of categories across their website, from technology to hobbies to travel. This year, they asked readers to nominate their favorites in ten Mexico Travel categories:

• Favorite Mexico Blog
• Favorite Mexico Attraction
• Favorite Mexico Tour Company
• Favorite Mexican Beach Destination
• Favorite Mexican Colonial City
• Favorite All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico
• Favorite Luxury Hotel in Mexico
• Favorite Bargain Hotel in Mexico
• Favorite Spring Break Destination in Mexico
• Favorite Spring Break Resort

The nominations poured in, and five finalists in each category were chosen. Readers then voted for their favorites among the finalists. Thousands of votes were cast between February 20, 2013, and the polls' closing on March 19, 2013.

After undergoing auditing to verify that votes complied with the contest rules of one vote per user per day, it was determined that Puerto Vallarta was the winner of the "Favorite Spring Break Destination" category, beating out Cancún, Acapulco, Los Cabos and Mazatlán, and Krystal Vallarta was among the poll's Top 5 "Favorite Spring Break Resorts."

"We love the old town feel of Puerto Vallarta combined with luxurious offerings. The beaches are steps away from local restaurants and shops so we can enjoy the sun, waves and local food at the same time, without having to travel very far," was just one of the many comments made by the 2013 Mexico Travel Readers' Choice Awards voters.

Puerto Vallarta was also among the top five finalists in the "Favorite Beach Destination" category, and the city's newly renovated Malecón was one of the Top 5 "Favorite Attractions" in this year's About.com Readers' Choice Awards.

Local tour companies Journey Mexico and Vallarta Adventures were among the finalists in the "Favorite Mexico Tour Company" category, Dreams Puerto Vallarta was one of the reader's Top 5 choices for "Favorite All-Inclusive Resorts," and the St. Regis Punta Mita beat out Hacienda San Angel and others to be named About.com's 2013 Reader's Choice winner for "Favorite Luxury Hotel in Mexico."
