July 10, 2013

Seapal Vallarta's winning project, which will improve the quality and efficiency of the city's water treatment process, will be implemented in the Norte II Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The "Air Diffusion System in Convection Bioreactors" (SDRBC) project earned Seapal Vallarta a place among the winners of the National Award for Innovation Processes in Water and Sanitation (PISAPyS) 2013 edition.

The Organizing Committee accredits these distinctions to organizations for their contribution to the water distribution and wastewater sector through optimizing water treatment processes and operation methods.

The Aguascalientes Citizens Water Supply and Sewerage Commission and the State Water Commission of Queretaro (CEA) were also winners for their proposed "Comprehensive Vision for Water in the Municipality of Aguascalientes" specifying forward thinking actions and mainstream plumbing initiatives for a sustainable future.

The PISAPyS award is organized by the National Association of Water and Sanitation of Mexico (ANEAS), the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA), the UNAM Engineering Institute (II-UNAM) and various companies engaged in the water sector.

Through awarding the medal, PIPAPyS seeks to promote and encourage the country's water systems to optimize their processes and methods of operation and promote the exchange of successful experiences, the application of new technologies, and the use of better practices that serve as elements to support the promotion of new projects within their institution.

Part of that distinction will be the participation of the winners on a working trip to Sweden, Finland and Denmark, including attendance at World Water Week, which will be held September 1-6, 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden. The theme for this year's conference will be "Water Cooperation, Building Societies."

Seapal Vallarta's winning project, which will improve the quality and efficiency of the city's water treatment process, will be implemented in the Norte II Wastewater Treatment Plant.
