Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - On the northwest side of Parque Hidalgo, less than a block from the beach in downtown Puerto Vallarta, is a new restaurant. It is called Layla's and it is certainly worth going a little out of your way to try!

When you walk in the door the restaurant appears small, though very nicely decorated, but they also have an air-conditioned bar upstairs and a patio, where they also serve food.

The reasonably priced menu features authentic Mexican dishes that combine the traditional tastes of Mexico with Layla's special style. The food was excellent, fresh, and nicely presented. And the drinks were perfectly mixed.

The service, provided by the owners, who were cooks for Kathy Lee Gifford for 8 years, was attentive and friendly. Our party of five all had something different and everyone agreed that this place was a winner! Be sure to visit this warm, friendly restaurant the next time you are in Puerto Vallarta.
