Andrea Citlally Curiel Rodriguez was crowned Miss Vallarta 2013 by Guadalajara October Fiesta Queen, Natalia Villasante; along with Mayor Ramón Guerrero Martínez and DIF President Magaly Fregoso Ortiz.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Andrea Citlally Curiel Rodriguez was crowned Miss Vallarta 2013 at a beauty pageant held on the Malecón Saturday evening as part of the city's four-day Fiestas Patrias (Mexico's Independence celebration.)

The two-hour event consisted of three stages, starting with the presentation of the six candidates, as well as the jury and special guests, including actor Ferdinando Valencia, television's Concepción Hinojosa, couture designers Salvador Moreno and Álvaro Iniguez, and municipal trustee Roberto Ascencio Castillo and councilman Humberto Gómez Arévalo.

On the catwalks, the candidates modeled cocktail dresses and each one spoke on a specific topic regarding our city; then they came out in evening dress and answered questions about their chosen topics, which helped the jury decide who would be representing our city as 'Miss Vallarta' this year.

The competition was stiff, so a break was taken to give the judges time to deliberate while the audience was treated to performances by Pearl Alarcon and La Boquita.

In the end, Andrea Curiel was crowned the 2013 'Reina de las Fiestas Patrias' by the Queen of the October Guadalajara Fiesta, Natalia Villasante, in the presence of Puerto Vallarta Mayor, Ramón Guerrero Martínez; DIF Vallarta President, Magaly Fregoso Ortiz; and Mexican singer Mariano Barba.

Dulce Guadalupe Sánchez was the first runner-up, and Blanca Esther Meza Rodríguez was the second runner up for the Miss Vallarta title. It should be mentioned that in addition to the winners, the group of participants included Valeria Magdalena Gutierrez, Brisa Alondra Peña, and Andrea del Rosario Gonzalez, all of them worthy representatives of Puerto Vallarta's beauty.

The evening ended with a performance by the creator of the popular songs Una Noche Más and Te Amo, singer/songwriter Mariano Barba, who entertained the large crowd of people that came out to enjoy the event, many of them national tourists who came to Vallarta for the holiday weekend.
