September 19, 2013

The Puerto Vallarta Integral Family Development System (DIF), chaired by Magaly Ortiz Fregoso, took their 'Ayudarte Nos Mueve' (Helping You Moves Us) Brigade to the La Lija sports stadium on September 17th.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - With more than 4,800 services provided in more than 25 colonies to date, the Puerto Vallarta Integral Family Development System (DIF), chaired by Magaly Ortiz Fregoso, took their 'Ayudarte Nos Mueve' (Helping You Moves Us) Brigade to the La Lija sports stadium on Tuesday.

Neighbors gathered at the stadium to partake in the various services offered by the agency, which include legal assistance and counseling, programs offered by the city's social workers and domestic violence unit, nutritional counseling, low-cost eyeglasses, haircuts and household appliance repairs.

Ayudarte Nos Mueve coordinator, Juan Pablo Vazquez, said that the services it brings to the colonies are accorded free of charge with the aim of supporting families in the greatest need. He invited the general public to take advantage of these brigades or to request services directly at the Municipal DIF System facilities, located on Paseo de las Palmas in Colonia Barrio Santa Maria.

Note that institutions like the Municipal Council for the Disabled; Puerto Vallarta's municipal HIV agency, Comusida; the Centro de Acopio Animal Shelter, which offers pet de-worming and vaccinations; and the Jalisco Secretary of Health who, to raise awareness, talks to families about the importance of keeping their yards clean and preventing disease, also participate in these brigades.

The next Ayudarte Nos Mueve brigade will be held in Colonia Ninos Heroes on October 1st.
