Riviera Nayarit to Host 'IX Pacific Alliance Summit'

June 18, 2014

Riviera Nayarit’s St. Regis Punta Mita Resort (pictured) and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, both categorized as Five-Diamond properties, will host the 'IX Pacific Alliance Summit' this Thursday and Friday.

Riviera Nayarit’s St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita are set to welcome the "IX Pacific Alliance Summit" to be held among the countries of Colombia, Chile, Peru, Costa Rica, and Mexico on June 19th-20th.

The president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, will host presidents Juan Manuel Santos, from Colombia; Michelle Bachelet, from Chile; Ollanta Humala, from Peru; and Laura Chinchilla, from Costa Rica.

This meeting will unite over 500 dignitaries and leaders from the political and economic spheres of these countries, as well as 150 members of the international media.

The Pacific Alliance is a multilateral mechanism that seeks the integration of this region of North and South America via the free movement of goods, services, capital, and people.

The two host hotels are categorized as Five-Diamond properties, the highest ranking offered by the AAA. Since their inauguration both hotels have received awards and recognitions in different categories from publications such as Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure and TripAdvisor, among others.

Punta Mita is one of the top destinations in Riviera Nayarit and was recently included into the top five destinations targeted by the Mexico Tourism Board for promotion at an international level.

This exclusive development located on Riviera Nayarit’s "Glamour Peninsula" has become the youngest destination with the brightest future within Mexico’s ample tourism offerings.

With this summit Riviera Nayarit continues to position itself as the host destination for important events on an international level. One other example is the 2nd conference on the "Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons" undertaken by the United Nations Organization, which took place during the month of February in the destination and included the participation of over 143 countries.
