Mijo! Participates in Advertising & Marketing Congress

July 16, 2014

In March 2014, Mijo! Brands began a research project to analyze the emerging trends in digital marketing for Acapulco, Cancun, Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - During the weekend of June 13th to 15th, 2014 the 7th National Congress of Advertising and Marketing was held with the participation of exhibitors Daniel Gomez and Ramon Lopez, the managing partners of Mijo! Brands.

Organized by the CEA Board, this annual event has grown in reputation and importance and now attracts many expert speakers from the marketing field.

In March, 2014, Mijo! Brands began a major research project to analyze the emerging trends in digital marketing for the 7 major beach resort destinations in Mexico. The goal was to conduct a thorough monitoring of the success or opportunities for growth of the destination's various social media campaigns and to start to develop a best practice benchmark.

Elidee Hernandez, Branding Consultant for Mijo! Brands, led the analysis and describes the project as an exploratory exercise to develop a better understanding of how the different destinations utilize social networking and the impact of their strategies on brand positioning and success.

The analysis was carried out using a wide range of measuring instruments and showed the way to run a full report to measure the actions of these locations for a 12 month period and has a tentative publication date of 2016.

"With the advent of Web 3.0, travelers have a voice and are no longer passive spectators. The role of the destinations is to attract and retain followers via social media channels to establish brand loyalty and remain competitive," says Elidee Hernandez.

Finally, the report discusses the tools and platforms used by the destinations, KPI's (Key Performance Indicators), contingency plans for crisis management, and case studies on best practices. It also provides useful insights for these brands to consider when developing their digital strategies.
