Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - As part of the joint efforts to promote Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit as a single destination, Grupo Excelencias is once again organizing a gourmet weekend where professionals and lovers of gastronomy will gather together to host a series of events celebrating the art of eating, drinking, and living well.

Scheduled to take place from October 22-25 at various venues in the Banderas Bay region, the sixth edition of this incomparable gourmet weekend, called "Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronomica 2014," will bring some of the world's most recognized chefs and gastronomy experts together in one place.

For four days, celebrities from the world of gastronomy, including chefs, mixologists, sommeliers, lecturers, plus domestic and international exhibitors, will gather at the event's headquarters, the Hotel Marival Resort & Suites in Nuevo Vallarta.

The 2014 Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica will include a wide variety of culinary events, including conferences by renowned chefs and sommeliers, gourmet tastings, cooking shows, various cooking and mixology competitions, an exhibit floor for sponsors, promotions offered by affiliated businesses, and a host of other interesting activities.

Gastronomy is fast becoming one of the most important attributes of the region, which means one of the CVBs' main objectives is the transformation of Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit into top culinary destinations, in addition to the preferred vacation spots they have become thanks to the Banderas Bay area's natural beauty and exemplary amenities and services.

Among the biggest draws will be the many culinary celebrities that will be present, much to the delight of the attendees.

Bricio Domínguez, Christian Bravo, Manolo Negrete, Pepe Godoy, Alejandro Espinosa, Ema Bonilla, Luis Felipe Nuño, Fernando Ruiz de Chávez, Fernando Ávila and Juan Carlos García will be representing Mexico.

The event's hosts will also be participating, among them Hugo Ahumada, Tony Martínez, Leonardo Peña, Nacho Cadena, Evangelina Robles, Israel Díaz and Betty Vázquez.

The international community will be well represented by Spain's Xano Saguer, Eva Millán, Miguel Sierra and Jordi Candela; as well as Yamir Peregrino from Cuba, and Bernard Corriveau from Canada.
