International Gourmet Festival Celebrates 20 Years

November 4, 2014

From November 13-23, 2014, Chefs from around the world will be sharing their best cuisine at restaurants around Banderas Bay, as Puerto Vallarta's International Gourmet Festival celebrates its 20th year.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Each year in November, Mexico's most celebrated International Gourmet Festival delights and charms visitors to Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit marking the beginning of the peak season in Banderas Bay. From November 13 through November 23 2014, Puerto Vallarta's XX International Gourmet Festival will host a number of spectacular culinary events, guest chefs and signature menus for you to devour.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, this year's International Gourmet Festival is set to be even more incredible than usual. Founders and organizers of the festival, world renowned chefs Thierry Blouet, Heinz Reize and Roland Menetrey have yet again prepared an unbeatable, taste bud tempting program of culinary events for Banderas Bay.

Decade number two rings in with 29 participating hotels and restaurants, over 30 chefs from four continents - including two from India - and new and improved events to welcome over 20 thousand attendees from November 13-23 to Puerto Vallarta, the Riviera Nayarit and Tepic.

"Everyone's excited and we have a great program to celebrate the 20th anniversary," said Chef Thierry Blouet. "We have more participants, more guest chefs and more events that are fun, mature and professional. The most important part, though, is that there is a deep, unlimited desire to continue to hold this event."

"We have no clue how far this festival can go because food lifts the spirits," added Chef Heinz Reize. "We're so proud of these past 20 years, because they have triggered amazing culinary feats. So far 490 chefs have visited us from every part of the world, giving us some amazing feedback over the years."

Art, culture and sport will also form part of this culinary event, which will have theme nights instead of chefs' tables in a bid to make them more special and more fun.

The grand opening will see the attendance of all the guest chefs, an innovative moment for this event, which will also boast over 30 vineyards in action. There will also be a polo tournament at the still-closed La Patrona Polo Club.
