Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Friday, January 16th, Puerto Vallarta Mayor Ramón Guerrero Martínez named Óscar Ernesto Pérez Flores the new director of Municipal Tourism.

The Mayor said Óscar Pérez's experience in public service and commitment to Puerto Vallarta makes him a fitting replacment for former Tourism Director Gerard Carlos Guzman, who submitted his resignation earlier this month for personal reasons.

A native of Puerto Vallarta, Óscar Pérez began demonstrating community values and responsibilities at a young age, performing community services for public and private institutions as well as social and school organizations. In the current municipal administration, he served as the Mayor's private secretary from October 2012 to June 2014; and subsequently ran the Strategic Projects Department, where he worked until a few days ago.

On Friday Óscar Pérez assumed the responsibilities as the head of the Municipal Tourism Department, where he will continue to demonstrate his commitment to our city by working with the private sector and the various levels of government to uphold the public policies and promotional efforts that have been implemented to strengthen tourism in this destination.
