Puerto Vallarta Blood Drive Wednesday, March 18, 2015

March 14, 2015

If you have any questions, please contact Pamela Thompson at 044-322-107-7007 or pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Giving blood is a simple thing to do, but it can make a big difference in the lives of others. Searching for blood for critical patients is a daily battle in all of our local hospitals, so Pamela Thompson of Healthcare Resources has organized a Blood Drive scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 18th on the 4th floor patio at Hospital Medasist on the South side of Puerto Vallarta.

Please consider donating the Gift of Life, keeping in mind that donation requirements in Mexico are different than in the United States and Canada. However, Mexico's previously restrictive rules for blood donors have been changed, and now they are much more relaxed!

• If you have tattoos you CAN donate!
• If you are in a same sex relationship, you CAN donate!
• If you are over 65 and in good health, you CAN donate!
• If you are taking medications regularly, you can still donate! (Some restrictions apply.)
• All blood is tested for many, many items/diseases.

The blood drive will begin at 8:00 am. You must be fasting for 4 to 8 hours prior to donating blood, and should consume no more than 2 alcoholic beverages in the 24 hours before donating.

For further details, and a complete listing of all the rules, please email pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com.

Pamela would like to have pre-donation-sign-ups, so if you could email her and let her know what time you can donate, that would be great! Cookie donations are also needed, so if you can donate cookies AND blood, please let her know ASAP!

Hospital Medasist is located at Manuel M. Dieguez #360 in Colonia Emiliano Zapata on the South Side of Puerto Vallarta.
Pamela Thompson has lived and worked in Puerto Vallarta for over 19 years, 10 of them in health care. Pamela now leads HealthCare Resources Puerto Vallarta, a local healthcare resource network.
