Ground has been broken for the elite CMQ Premiere Hospital to be built in the town of Bucerías, the ideal central location for a string of coastal towns like Nuevo Vallarta, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta de Mita, Sayulita and San Pancho.

This private hospital will offer cutting-edge diagnostic services and the treatment of diverse pathologies, like its sister location in Puerto Vallarta. It's expected that, as medical tourism grows in the area, this new hospital will attract and cater to the visitors and residents of the many gated communities and top-notch resorts in the area.

Anticipated to open in approximately 18 months, this new medical facility will add to the San Javier Hospital located in Nuevo Vallarta and the two clinics of Santa Rosa and Medic-Air Hospital, which have full diagnostics and operating theaters, albeit on a much smaller scale.

The high caliber of development along the northern shores of Banderas Bay has made for this coming of age in medical services. At one time, residents of the zone relied on commercial services in neighboring Puerto Vallarta, but the area has become self-sufficient and very well served by superstores, a multitude of banks and, with the opening of the CMQ Premiere, will soon offer two elite hospitals.
