74 scholarships of 600 pesos were awarded to the primary school students, and the 20 secondary school students were granted 700 pesos to be used towards the purchase of school supplies.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Last week, DIF President Iris Ulloa Godinez and Director David La Rosa Flores delivered nearly 100 scholarships to primary and secondary school children to support and encourage their studies.

In front of a large crowd, 74 scholarships of 600 pesos were awarded to each of the deserving primary school students, and each of the 20 exemplary secondary school students were granted 700 pesos to be used towards the purchase of items they will need for the next school year.

In her address, the DIF president congratulated the school children on their good grades and mentioned that these scholarships were made possible thanks to the efforts made by DIF in conjunction with other non-profit associations like Eagle Wings, which always steps forward to support educational causes.

Two young girls, Haydee Yesenia Rodríguez Martínez and América Yolett Ruelas Romero, primary students came forward to thank the Municipal DIF System and its principals on behalf of all the scholarship students and pledged to continue improving in their studies every day.

For his part, director David La Rosa Flores reminded parents that the doors of the Municipal DIF are always open to serve them. "Do not hesitate to come to learn about all of the different DIF programs that support our families in need," he said.
