HealthCare Resources Puerto Vallarta August Clinics

August 3, 2015

For all of your Puerto Vallarta medical needs contact Pamela Thompson at (322) 222-9638, 044-322-107-7007, pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com

Puerto Vallarta - The summer is whizzing by at top speed. Before we know it, the "high season" will arrive and we'll be welcoming our winter friends. In the meantime, we are doing rain dances, cheering when the sky opens up, soaks everything and cools things down a bit. We're all moving a tad slower in this humidity!

We have a full month of clinics in August but we take a break in September from all clinics and programs. Of course we are available for everything else. We don't just "shut down"! October will bring a full month of our regular clinics, some new ones and a lot of speakers programs. Our new website will be up and running soon as well.

As so many people begin to prepare for the winter return to Puerto Vallarta and surrounding areas, it is very important to do your homework!

Check-Off List:

• Be sure and bring enough of your medications to last during your time in the area. As well, it is a good idea to check availability of your meds here ahead of time. Do not assume you can purchase the same meds or without a prescription.

• Make sure that you put together an Emergency Information List to keep in your condo/house and keep on file with your rental agent here. We have a format and if you would like a copy, please email and ask.

• Register on-line with your consulate. Email me for the links.

• If you have specific serious medical issues, bring a summary from your physician at home to keep on file here.

• Be sure you have proper medical insurance coverage. (see below)

For any questions on the above, please contact me via email at pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com

A wide variety of traveler's insurance policies are available and accepted here in the area. Remember! Insurance is only accepted here as form of payment for inpatient services with a minimum 24 hour stay. I have a very detailed information sheet on "How Insurance Works in the Area." Please feel free to request a copy.

We do not sell insurance, but we DO work with a variety of representatives from various companies. Please contact us for information/referrals.

Colonoscopy: We continue during the months of August and September with our special colonoscopy price. Prices will rise in October so take advantage of this very economical price now! Just get it over with!
3,950 pesos (save nearly 1,000 pesos)
Biopsies are 650 pesos each if taken
Includes follow up consult
Please email us for further details/appointment.

Get a Check-up: We have complete Men's and Women's Check-ups (physicals) that include a follow up consult and exam with a super, bi-lingual GP. A very good price and includes important studies.

Lyme Disease

Most of the Lyme patients suffer from a variety of chronic health problems such as fatigue, headaches, OCD, anxiety, depression, memory loss, muscle & joint pain and cognitive dysfunction (some of the more common symptoms). Called "The New Great Imitator," Lyme Disease is often mistaken for illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis among others. If you have visited numerous physicians without a proper diagnosis, you MIGHT have Chronic Lyme Disease. Testing is now available via our Lyme Disease Specialist here in Puerto Vallarta and, for the months of July and August, we are offering a free Lyme Microscopy Test performed by our specialist! Email us for details.

Upcoming Events

We are excited about the upcoming fall/winter season. In addition to our regular screening clinics, we will be adding several new ones. We will have our Hot Topic Mondays every week (locations will vary). We will be part of the new hospital opening (where the previous Cornerstone Hospital is, south side of Plaza Caracol). October will be Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a wide variety of events. Each month beginning in October, we will have a "theme" month with the focus on a specific health issue with speakers on that theme along with special prices on studies. And our biggest event of the year, Medical Matters, as always will be in February. Save the date! Monday, February 15, 2016.

Hot Topic Mondays

Many of you have asked when we will begin these again. I most certainly hope to do so in May! Please! Send your ideas for topics. Or, perhaps you would like to do a presentation. We are wide-open to topics and ideas!

A Cool Get Away

As we head into the "hot" months, think about an escape to the mountains to San Sebastian and a stay at the Hacienda Jalisco. This is our 280 year old hacienda (run by my son so yes, I am putting in a plug.) Or, put together a group and go up for the day to explore the pueblo and have a delicious lunch at the Hacienda Jalisco. It's peaceful, its calm, it's beautiful! Email for information.

We hope you are having a wonderful summer, wherever you are! We are here to assist you with any and all of your health care needs.

Stay cool!
