go to original
September 13, 2016

An investment of 14 million pesos was made in the acquisition of the 40 Nissan Frontier NP 300 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup trucks, 22 of which have been properly equipped and put into service.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On Friday, just before he delivered his First Government Report at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center, Mayor Arturo Dávalos Peña presented Police and Public Safety officers with 22 of the 40 new patrol vehicles that will strengthen surveillance and security in the municipality. He also delivered a "Pink Patrol," truck to handle cases of domestic violence, and a "Green Patrol" animal protection truck.

The mayor explained that an investment of 14 million pesos was made in the acquisition of the 40 Nissan Frontier NP 300 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup trucks, 22 of which are already properly equipped and meet all specifications.

The remaining 18 vehicles will be delivered once they have been fully outfitted, which will substantially improve surveillance in colonias and tourist areas throughout the city. These units will also be equipped with a 'briefcase' that contains all of the tools necessary to comply with the protocols for the preservation and packaging of crime scene evidence.

Arturo Dávalos Peña also delivered two new ambulances to the Municipal Civil Protection and Fire Department to strengthen pre-hospital emergency care. With a municipal investment of 1 million 650 thousand pesos, these two 2015 Ford Transit emergency units have been properly equipped for the care of patients in transport, including thermal insulation, interior railings, cabinets, breathing tubes, oxygen systems, stretchers and emergency lights.

Once the vehicles were delivered, they were immediately put into service for the benefit of the Puerto Vallarta community.
