Upcoming Events and Happenings in Vallarta-Nayarit

December 16, 2016

From live music and theater to cultural festivals, sporting events, charitable efforts and special interest group meetings, there's always something fun happening in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Here in Puerto Vallarta, the holiday season is a nonstop ride of families, fiestas, and fun. From live music and theater to cultural celebrations and charity events, there's something fun for everyone to enjoy! Here's a look at some of this weekend's events and a few upcoming happenings that you won't want to miss.

Free Salty Paw Jazz Orchestra Concert at Plaza Caracol

This Sunday, December 18 at 5:00 pm the Salty Paw Jazz Orchestra will be giving a free concert at Plaza Caracol. A Big Band style orchestra mostly consisting of young musicians learning improvisation, the Salty Paw Jazz Orchestra, or Pata Salada Orquesta de Jazz, started as a youth-based workshop with a focus on teaching individuals to be themselves, be proud of who they are and what they can create in the moment, while having fun. Today, the program has expanded to include jazz history, theory, and ensemble, and is now open to all musicians in the city who play an instrument and would like to learn more about jazz. Come out to Plaza Caracol on Sunday, December 18 to enjoy this free concert and show your support of these aspiring local musicians. While there, you could even do some Christmas shopping or buy groceries for your Christmas dinner! The Plaza Caracol shopping mall is located on Francisco Ascencio Medina in the Puerto Vallarta Hotel Zone, next to Lans Department store.

PV Garden Club Holiday Luncheon at Vallarta Botanical Garden

In a town that relies on tourism, the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club's mission of 'Beautifying Vallarta' makes all other endeavors here more successful. Without a vibrant economy, neither the businesses nor the many other worthwhile charities in the Banderas Bay area can thrive. Whether you are a resident or visitor, we encourage you to help us with our mission of making Puerto Vallarta an even more beautiful place to call home. Not a member of the Vallarta Garden Club? We'd love to have you join and help us continue the work of beautifying Puerto Vallarta. Bring your friends and join us on Tuesday, December 20 at 1:00 pm for a wonderful holiday experience at Vallarta Botanical Garden. Bob Bruneau, friend to many in the community, will perform beloved holiday favorites. The $650 peso ticket price includes admission to the garden, a 3-course luncheon, wine and gratuity. RSVP Required by December 19th. RSVP to davidmuck(at)yahoo.com.
