Act II Brings in 2017 with the Opening of The 39 Steps & Return of Avenue Q

"The 39 Steps" A Classic Hitchcock Thriller
4 Actors, 130 Characters in 100 Hilarious Minutes
Opening Night Party: Saturday, January 7 - 6:00 pm
January 7, 10, 11, 14, 17, 18, 21, 24, 25, 28, 31 - 7:00 pm
February 1, 4, 14, 21, 28 at 7:00 pm

Alfred Hitchcock's classic spy thriller, The 39 Steps, is brilliantly and hilariously recreated for the stage as the smash-hit, winner of the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 2007. The 39 Steps follows the incredible adventures of its handsome hero, Richard Hannay, an Englishman, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho, and pencil moustache. Laugh along as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women. Directed by Allen McMullen, this wonderfully-inventive and gripping comedy thriller features four fearless actors, playing 139 roles in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action. In Patrick Barlow's adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 thriller, a cast of four actors - PV's Alfonso Lopez, Maria Rose, Kami Desilets and Gabe Arciniega - portrays every hero, villain, spy, and love interest from Simon Corble's novel, to farcical effect.

Avenue Q extends dates by popular demand!
January 12, 19, 26 & February 2 - 7:00 pm

Called "The Best Show in Vallarta Entertainment History," Avenue Q returns to the Main Stage Theater by popular demand! After a 16-show run with unprecedented attendance and sold-out crowds, Puerto Vallarta audiences said, "Bring Back Avenue Q!" - and Act II listened!

Avenue Q is a delightful, laugh-out-loud American musical that was performed on Broadway from 2003 to 2009. Audiences everywhere have been captivated by its fresh and funny story, and it won the prestigious 2004 Tony Awards' Triple Crown: Best Music, Best Score & Best Book!

The story of Avenue Q takes place in New York City and the street is Avenue Q, the only address you can afford when you're fresh out of college, out of a job, or just trying to find your purpose in life. It is a coming-of-age parable that satirizes the issues and anxieties of entering adulthood. Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score (not to mention the use of full-size puppets that are animated by unconcealed human puppeteers), Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite of audiences everywhere!

Although the show addresses humorous adult issues (and is not recommended for children), it is very similar to a beloved children's show; a place where puppets are friends. It is directed by Act II's Musical Director, Alfonso Lopez, and features a wonderful, international cast. Simply put, this show is perfect for those of us who may be wondering how the hell we got to this point in our lives and constantly questioning what our purpose is. But for now, you can just sit back, enjoy, belly-laugh, and rejoice at the marvel of this modern-day musical! "Queens Against Humanity" A Drag Show for 'Horrible People'
Starring Sutton Lee Seymour
Opening Night Party: Saturday, January 7 - 8:30 pm
January 7 at 9:30 pm

Sutton Lee Seymour returns to the Act II Stage with a brand new show called "Queens Against Humanity," an interactive comedy show based on the hilarious game, Cards Against Humanity! Unlike most of the party games you've played before, Cards Against Humanity is as "despicable and awkward as you and your friends." The game is simple. Each round, one player asks a question from a Black Card, and everyone else answers with their funniest White Card. Sutton Lee Seymour (in her inimitable style), joins us from a successful run in New York, and will lead the audience through this hilarious game with a number of gut-busting celebrity impersonations, character assassinations, and risqué humor! Last season, Sutton Lee Seymour, known as "The Queen of Broadway," became an overnight sensation in Puerto Vallarta with her show, "The Way Off Broad." Her incredible energy, vocal prowess, and perfect comedic timing catapulted her into a Headline Act at Act II Stages. We know you are going to LOVE what she has in store for us with her brand-new show this season!

Continuing This Month at Act II

Her show includes her nationally-acclaimed original comedic music that is peppered with parodies of old time favorites and startling satire. Expect a night of side-splitting laughter from Hedda Lettuce, one of NYC's premiere drag queens.

Hedda Lettuce has appeared on major networks (HBO, Comedy Central, MTV), films, commercials and in off-Broadway projects. "Fame-Ish" The Best Show Ever in the History of Everything
Starring Sutton Lee Seymour
Every Tuesday at 9:30 pm

"Fame-Ish, The Best Show Ever in the History of Everything" is a one-woman farce starring Sutton Lee Seymour in every role...ever created...in one show. Known as the "Robin Williams of Drag," Sutton Lee Seymour explores the highs and lows of fame, and the struggles and silliness of a life in the spotlight (or the lack thereof).

Fame-Ish is a one-woman comedic farce starring Sutton Lee Seymour, taking on every major musical and movie she can, and cutting them down to 5 minutes! It's a fast-paced, mad-cap romp through Broadway, Disney, and Hollywood, featuring songs from Wicked, Les Miserables, Chicago, and by Britney Spears, Cher, Madonna & Celine Dion.

Being a "big theater geek," Sutton Lee Seymour comes from a theatrical background. Both of her parents were involved in Community Theater and used to drag her off to rehearsals with them. Her father played Broadway tunes all the time in their home, so she comes by her love of Broadway music naturally! In her "evil twin" (boy life), she was an actor, working with the legendary Charles Busch on the musical, Bunnicula. Charles piqued her desire to try "drag," so she changed her name, slipped on a gown, and found her niche in the entertainment world.

Sutton has an uncanny ability to walk into a room with a contagious energy, pull the audience into the palm of her hand, and make everyone feel that they are a part of an intimate, personal experience, begging for more.
