Last week I did an article in the PVTribune on a special need for volunteers to assist with some "little things" - from visiting and assisting spouses of inpatients to assisting with items for the Regional Hospital. Let's talk about charities, what is needed, how you can help. You can see the article HERE.

"25 Things You Need to Know About Healthcare in the Area"
This is a fun "quiz" that I have done in the past (with prizes too!) so please join us to have some fun AND learn about important health-related information in the area.
Here are a few ideas for New Year's Resolutions!
• Get that colonoscopy done. Contact us for information
• Take care of any End of Life planning - we can send you information/suggestions.
• Have an Emergency Plan in place - request the information and we can send to you.
• Make sure you have insurance coverage here. We do not sell insurance but we can help you with planning and choosing a policy.
• Want to lose a few pounds? We have a wonderful nutritionist who can help.
• Let's have a chat and put together a plan for you - from a physician to insurance.
We are thrilled to announce that our bi-lingual psychiatrist, Dra. Adi Dominguez will be returning to work (half days only) after the first of the year. She is an amazing woman! She will be focused mostly on medications. For an appointment, please email us. She will also be working with/sharing an office with a new therapist who specialized in the past with veterans among other things.
Did you know we have our very own audiologist here? Hearing checks, hearing aid repair/sales - Christina is the star! Email for information/appointment.
We now have a geriatric specialist and a rheumatologist in the area and both are stellar! For an appointment/information, please email us.
We also have a wonderful pain specialist available now!
Let's Take a Tour
I think that the hospital, San Javier Riviera in Nuevo Vallarta has to be one of THE most beautiful hospitals I have ever seen. We will be doing a few tours of the hospital in January. If you would like to participate, please let me know and I will send details. For those folks in the northern part of the bay, this is a wonderful option for you! As well, San Javier has a table at the Tuesday Farmers' Market in Nuevo Vallarta! I will try to be there as many Tuesdays as possible, so come by and say "hello." On January 17, 2017 I will be there with Doctor Quintero, a great, bi-lingual physician. He will be available to answer questions and take your blood pressure. Stop by and see us!
I am really excited to be writing for the PVTribune once a week now. I am wide open for topics so send your ideas. You can read all of the articles online at vallartatribune.com.
We love the Tribune because it is distributed not only in the Puerto Vallarta area, but as well, to various locations in the northern bay area.
How Healthcare Resources Works
I think we all get tired of the gossip around here (I call it the "Jungle Drums") and so once again, I think it is important that I explain how Healthcare Resources work. No! I do not work for free BUT I do not work on a commission/referral fee basis! We have individual contracts with our physicians and hospitals and believe me when I say they receive a ton of work from us - from referrals to insurance billing to anything and everything in between. When I hear that people are saying "Oh, don't go via Pam Thompson because she makes a lot of money on her referrals." I could just scream. This is absolutely, positively UNTRUE. If you have questions, contact me directly!
What is the PLUS program? It is a few "extra perks" for people BUT it is important to remember - one does NOT need to be a PLUS member to receive our services! Click HERE to see the chart.
We can set up pretty much any study you need - from an MRI to a colonoscopy. We can set up any labwork/X-ray/Ultrasound with discounts and we will be happy to translate the test results.
Here's to a very happy and healthy 2017!
