This & That

Even if you are not in the area during the summer, you can still see the PV Tribune online and all of the weekly articles, including mine!

Want in on a little secret? Thomas Simon, hair stylist extraordinaire is now taking new clients only during April through October! This is great news! As well, he has two wonderful stylists available for your hair needs – from color to cut – they are stars! Venustiano Cardenas #290 Tel: (322) 688-2019

We have several fine, mindful therapists in the area who specialize in PTSD, grief, depression, ADHD and they work in conjunction with our wonderful, bi-lingual psychiatrist, Dra. Adi Dominguez. Email for information/appointment.

If you are here in the summer months, you know one of the best places to go to escape the heat, even for a bit, are the movies! If you would like to join in, once a week (or whenever you want!) with a group and attend a movie, let me know and I will add you to our email list! Note: Once in a while we might have a group activity (not sure what yet!) throughout the summer – you would be notified of these as well.

Is it time for a colonoscopy? Do you need an MRI, CT scan, Endoscopy or any other type of study? Contact us and we are happy to set up the procedure at a discounted price and translate the report for you as well!

Hot Topics
If you would like to attend any of our FREE speakers programs, we do require an RSVP (that's why I do not put the location – so you'll email me!) Space is limited.

Jungle Critters! - Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10 am
Dr. Fernando Marquez (ER Physician) will discuss bugs, spiders, insects, critters commonly found here in the area. Are they poisonous? What is the treatment if bitten? We have done this in the past and it is a very popular program!

Ozone - Non-surgical Option for Back Problems - Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10 am
Dr. Manuel Hernandez will do this repeat of the very popular presentation he did at this year's Medical Matters. He is highly experienced in ozone treatment for back issues and I personally know of numerous patients who have seen great improvement since starting them. If you have back issues, isn't it a good idea to explore all of the options?

Everything You Need to Know about Zika, Dengue & Chikungunya - May 22, 10 am

As we move into the rainy season, it is super important to understand clearly about prevention of mosquito-related diseases and as well, about these illnesses. Better to hear statistics from Dr. Jaime Zayas, who is the head of the Salud (Health Department) here than via gossip. Updated information!

Breakfast with a Psychiatrist - May 29, 2017 at 9:30 am
Our "Breakfasts with a Physician" are always very popular! Relaxed, casual, informal. For this one, we will have a chat with psychiatrist Dra. Adi Dominguez. You can ask questions about everything from bipolar disorder to medications. These gatherings are a wonderful way to really get to "know" our physicians.

Wish List

As always we have our Wish List of items – things that are needed for the less fortunate. From hotel size soaps to medical supplies, everything is very much appreciated. Please send me an email if you would like a copy.

Too Many Ideas, Too Little Time

Yes! There are still many ideas I have that I have not yet had time to put together. They will happen, eventually! For example a "Make a Plan" presentation – a plan made especially for you with all medical/emergency information. • A luncheon for newcomers to meet some old-timers. • A gathering to put together hygiene kits for the Regional Hospital. • A crafting day to make personalized large bags for our kids with Cancer that go to Guadalajara for treatment...

Add to this to a brand new discharge program (for inpatients), natural childbirth and pre-natal classes, a 6 week course (in English) for caregivers/homecare workers, and a whole lot more. These things will happen – sometime in the near future. Watch our Facebook page, or my own Facebook page, and of course, the articles in the PV Tribune for updates!

Healthcare Resources PLUS Program

What is the PLUS program? It is a few "extra perks" for people BUT it is important to remember - one does NOT need to be a PLUS member to receive our services! Click HERE to see the chart.

It has been a record-breaking past few months as far as inpatients, consult appointments, clinic attendance, emergencies and everything else in between. I am very proud of my co-workers and my physicians! And as the summer months continue, we will continue to be here for you – for all of your healthcare needs. Feel free to send an email with any questions or comments.

Thank you!
