Back in 1962, most men went to the Catskill Mountains to escape the summer heat, but others took the two-hour drive to escape something else entirely: being men. Nestled in the land of dirty dancing and borscht belt comedy sat an inconspicuous bungalow colony that catered to a very special clientele: heterosexual men whose favorite pastime was dressing and acting as women. It was paradise for these men - white-collar professionals with families - to spend their weekends discreetly and safely inhabiting their chosen female alter egos. But when faced with the opportunity to become an official organization, these 'self-made women' had to decide whether public recognition would help them gain a place in open society or spell their own personal disaster.

Infused with Director Harvey Fierstein's trademark wit, the entire cast is a delight! This moving, insightful and delightfully entertaining new work had four Tony nominations in 2014, and offers a glimpse into the lives of a group of unforgettable characters as they search for acceptance and happiness in their very own Garden of Eden. Directed by Allen McMullen, Casa Valentina stars Tom Bernes, Nathan Frye, Danny Mininni, Bert Ramirez, Dwayne Carrier, Thomas Carroll, Cherry DeLorenzo, Maria Rose and Dr. Ken Shanoff.

People have called her the perfect blend of comedy and soulful sounds that leaves you feeling empowered and joyful. "Beyond Gay" Film Screening
Wednesday, May 24
Discussion panel: 4:00-4:30 pm
Film: 4:30-6:00 pm
Q&A: 6:00 - 6:30 pm

Join us at the screening of Beyond Gay: The Politics Of Pride, a 2009 award-winning documentary directed by Bob Christie, that examines the relevance of Gay Pride celebrations internationally. This feature length documentary follows the Vancouver Pride Society's Parade Director Ken Coolen as he travels to places where Pride is steeped in protest to experience the powerful oppression that still exists. "Beyond Gay" portrays Gay Pride as more than just a parade, but rather a global fight for human rights. After the screening, there will be a Q&A panel discussion with director/producer Bob Christie, called "The Power of Film to Change Society."

Bob's Famous Karaoke Party
Every Wednesday Night at 8:00 pm

Join us every Wednesday evening for the most fun you'll have all week! Drink specials run from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm, with Karaoke starting at 8:00 pm. Our beautiful Encore Lounge is air-conditioned, and we feature the best Karaoke in town! It's the place where all of your favorite singers from your favorite shows come to sing with the locals. It doesn't matter if you are scared to get on the stage, or if you're not a good singer, or if you just love to listen to others sing. It's THE PLACE to meet and greet other people, and to get to know your fellow PV Expats. Come this Wednesday evening and join your hosts, Alfonso Lopez, Maria Rose and Marsha Ross as they welcome some of the best voices in Vallarta.

PVGMC Pride Concert: "Todos Juntos - Together"
May 25 & 27 at 8:00 pm

Join the Puerto Vallarta Gay Men's Chorus (PVGMC) for their 4th Gay Pride Concert at Act II Stages. This year's theme was born from a year where all communities have had to come together and rise up. The PVGMC is built on the idea that men from both sides of the wall have come together to sing and love and to form friendships. "Todos Juntos - Together" embodies that idea and brings together not only the music of the chorus, but many guest performers, such as Elvis Martinez (Red Room headliner), Kharla Barragan (owner of Alas Escuela de Canto), and Act II's Voice of Vallarta winners, Ana Adame, Eli Estrada, and Emperatriz Valles. Artistic Director, Alfonso Lopez, promises Vallarta a Gay Pride concert like none other!
