Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - At an awards ceremony held last week in Mexico City, PriceTravel Holding recognized the excellence and work of its commercial allies with the delivery of the coveted PriceTravel Trophies, which in this 2017 edition honored those companies and organizations that excelled in the tourism industry during 2016.

The awards ceremony was attended by representatives of hotels and travel agencies and agency directors, among other tourism industry personalities whose products, services and marketing campaigns were evaluated by the final consumer: customers who booked within this recognized portal and participated directly in the selection of the winners.

Esteban Velásquez and Pablo Castro, PriceTravel General Director and Marketing Director respectively, presented awards to hotel companies, cruise ship companies, tour providers and destinations.

Several hotels were awarded in various categories for being the most productive properties during 2016 - and the Melía Puerto Vallarta was awarded the Top Producer prize in the All Inclusive Hotel category.

For the second consecutive year, the travel agency decided to award tourist destinations. In that context, Puerto Vallarta received an important recognition for the marketing strategy that made 2016 a historic year for tourism, largely due to the increase in hotel occupancy that maintains its upward trend this year.

When presented the award, the new Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust (Fidetur), Javier Aranda Pedrero, stated that he was proud to be part of the team that promotes one of the main tourist destinations in the country. He also reiterated his commitment to continue adding recognition and increasing Puerto Vallarta's reputation as the best beach tourist destination in Mexico.

For summer vacation, Puerto Vallarta offers a clean, safe destination with wonderful experiences for the whole family. It should be noted that last week the international organization "Blue Flag" delivered eight blue flag certifications to the same number of beaches in this destination, which gives Puerto Vallarta the distinction of having the most Blue Flag certified beaches in Mexico.

According to the head of the Municipal Tourism Board, Ramón González Lomelí, the municipality of Puerto Vallarta has six Clean Beaches, including a Sustainable Clean Beach, in addition to eight Blue Flag certified beaches which include: Playa Camarones, Playa de Oro, Palmares, Amapas, Conchas Chinas I and II, Garza Blanca and new to the list, the beach at the Sheraton Buganvilia Resort. All eight blue flag beaches have met the 33 international criteria established by Pronatura.

But Puerto Vallarta offers more than just fun in the sun, surf and sand. It also offers adventure travel experiences in the jungles, mountains and nearby destinations such as The Riviera Nayarit. All of them are, without a doubt, competitive advantages that were used for the development of the marketing campaign that was recognized by the 2017 PriceTravel Trophy.

PriceTravel is a wholesale travel agency with more than 10 years of experience in selling reservations for more than 100,000 hotels, plane tickets, land transportation, cruises and vacation packages via the Internet, telephone and at passenger attention points in different parts of the world.
