Vallarta Has Something Fun for Everyone in November

October 30, 2017

From now through the end of November, the city of Puerto Vallarta will be hosting a variety of cultural, culinary, artistic and sporting events that are sure to appeal to visitors from all walks of life.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The last weekend of October marked the start of a series of events that will be taking place in Puerto Vallarta during the coming weeks that are sure to appeal to visitors from all walks of life.

It all started on Sunday, October 29 with the first day of the city's Día de Los Muertos Festival, which honors and remembers loved ones who have died while filling the streets with life. This year's celebrations, which continue through November 2, combine traditional Día de Los Muertos customs and beliefs with a series of family-friendly activities such as Kermes, musical performances, folkloric ballets, Charro exhibitions, and two large parades. For more information and the event schedule, click HERE.

In the culinary field, Sunday kicked off the 9th edition of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronomic - an event that brings local, national and international chefs together for a series of activities that celebrate the art of eating, drinking and living well - that continues through November 1 at the Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Resort.

The Festival Gourmet International Vallarta, the annual food and wine event that has been tempting the tastebuds of Banderas Bay area residents and visitors for the last 22 years, returns to Puerto Vallarta from November 10-19. For more information, click HERE.

Along the same lines, the second Festival of the Taco is scheduled to take place on November 18th and 19th at the Jardín de la Luna at the Puerto de Luna Hotel. This family-friendly event will feature some of the best taco restaurants in the city who offer a wide variety of Mexico's most representative dish - the taco! - not to mention beer and tequila tastings, live music and other fun activities.

Another activity that celebrates the good life in Puerto Vallarta is the Beer Festival, set to take place on November 18 and 19 and featuring some of the region's best craft beers all in one place - the Isla Rio Cuale. There, you will find more than 35 styles and varieties of beer made by breweries in Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita and Guadalajara, plus an experimental cocktail stand, music and more.

Athletics and Fishing Events

The 14th Annual Puerto Vallarta Half Marathon and 5K Competition will be run on Sunday, November 5, 2016. As part of the Mexican circuit of marathons and half-marathons, some of the best runners from all over Mexico as well as athletes from other countries participate in this popular race every year. The Half Marathon is accompanied by a 5-kilometer race in which everyone is invited to participate.

You don't have to be rich to enter the 10th Annual Los Muertos Beach Fishing Tournament! Scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11, this tournament is for the common man, with low-cost entry fees to participate in this fun-filled event that has been held for nine years. After the winners are determined and prizes are awarded on Saturday, a fiesta will be held with all of the fish caught in the tournament cooked on the beach and served free to the public. This is the party of the year on Playa Los Muertos, so don't miss it!

This year's Puerto Vallarta International Sailfish and Marlin Fishing Tournament is scheduled to take place from November 15-17 in the waters of Banderas Bay. Now in its 62nd year, the Puerto Vallarta International Sailfish and Marlin Tournament is considered one of the most important yearly events in our city, attracting the most prestigious fishermen from all over the world. Since there are over 180 fishing clubs in the national fishing federation, the Puerto Vallarta Fishing Club has always offered fishermen a quality event with valuable prizes and a spirit of friendly competition.

To contribute to the success of these events, the Puerto Vallarta Office of Conventions and Visitors and the Tourism Trust will 'team up' to promote them all on their social networks and on the city's official website.
