'Fat Tuesday' Celebrated with Style in Puerto Vallarta

Incanto, featuring Ballet Folklórico Tradiciones, captured top honors and the $10,000 peso cash prize for the most creative entry among the 50 entries that took part in the 2018 CarnavalPV parade.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Hundreds of revelers from all walks of life marched, danced and promenaded three-kilometers - from the Hotel Zone to Los Muertos Pier - in a wonderful menagerie of energy, song and whirling colors on Tuesday night.


The 2018 CarnavalPV parade - celebrating Puerto Vallarta's 100th birthday - was a true celebration of life, energy and joy, providing an outlet of entertainment for residents and putting on an unforgettable show for visiting tourists. More than 30,000 spectators lined the picturesque route to enjoy the arsenal of glitter, feathers, paper mache, sequins, music and pageantry.

Incanto, featuring Ballet Folklórico Tradiciones, captured top honors and the $10,000 peso cash prize provided by PVRPV.com for the most creative entry among the 50 entries that took part in the annual outing. Reinas Bar and Andales on The Bay also received 'honorable mention' for their colorful entry.

Next year's parade is slated for Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Event organizers Gary Green and Tim Longpré wish to thank Pablo Corona, all the volunteers, participants, spectators, and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism, Police, Transit Police and Fire Departments for their support.

'Martes Gordo' Celebrado con Estilo, CarnavalPV 2018


Cientos de personas de todos los estratos sociales marcharon, bailaron y recorrieron tres kilómetros en una maravillosa colección de energía, canciones y colores giratorios el martes por la noche.

El CarnavalPV 2018 - celebrando el 100 aniversario de Puerto Vallarta - fue una verdadera celebración de la vida, la energía y la alegría, proporcionando una salida de entretenimiento para los residentes y la realización de un espectáculo inolvidable para los turistas que visitan.

Más de 30,000 espectadores se alinearon en la pintoresca ruta para disfrutar del arsenal de purpurina, plumas, papel maché, lentejuelas, música y esplendor.
