Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico - The fifth annual "Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition" launched globally on May 7, 2019. Inspired by the perfectionists who craft each bottle of Patrón, the Global Cocktail Competition brings together mixologists who demonstrate a continuous pursuit of perfection behind the bar.

This year's contest has an even broader global reach with bartenders from across six continents invited to submit their recipes, which will make this year's competition for the perfect Patrón Tequila-based cocktail, well... stiff.

Matthew Sykes, senior director of international marketing at Patrón Spirits International, said: "2019 is a milestone year for the brand. In just five years, the Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition has grown from a single country competition in the UK to a program that spans six continents, involving more than 32 countries. Over the last four years we have seen more than 6,000 bartenders enter and over the next few months we expect to see more than 5,000 register for this year's contest.

Registration for the competition is now open at PatronPerfectionists.com, with international finals taking place from September until November 2019.

The 22 winners from the international finals will head to Jalisco, Mexico in January 2020 to compete in the global final at Hacienda Patrón, the home of Patrón Tequila.

At the Global Finals, contestants will be judged on how well they craft a Patrón cocktail that embodies their home country and measured against the following categories: appearance, originality, service/hosting and flavor.

Judges will also look for select values to be brought to life through the bartenders' cocktail creations and presentations, including a respect for craftsmanship, attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to perfection.
