Boca de Tomatlan is one of Vallarta's a best kept secrets! An authentic Mexican fishing village, just ten miles down scenic Highway 200, Boca is the last coastal community you can reach before the highway heads up into the Sierra Madre and Sierra Cuale mountains - and where you can catch a water taxi to Las Animas, Quimixto, Majahuitas, Las Caletas and Yelapa.

Located where the Horcones River empties into Banderas Bay, Boca is surrounded by bougainvillea and palm covered hills, and is the perfect place to photograph nature’s flora and fauna, soft-sand beach and gentle ocean surf; take snapshots of the fisherman arriving every morning with their nets filled; or capture images of the Green Macaws and wild parrots that live in this beautiful cove. We hope you enjoy the pictures in our Boca area photo gallery.
