Event: Pirates For Pupils Spinnaker Sail
Location: Vallarta Yacht Club, Paradise Village Marina
Date and Time: Tuesday, March 28th, 9 a.m. PV time
Cost 150 pesos per person donation
Tuesday, March 28th is the date for this year's Pirates For Pupils Spinnaker Sail.

Everyone is invited to join in this fun day on the water. The event begins at Vallarta Yacht Club at Paradise Village Marina at 9.00 a.m. Jalisco time. For the small donation of 150 pesos a person you will be directed to the big Cat "Humu Humu." Take your shoes off, go on board, pay the Captain - and enjoy the cruise out to Punta Mita.

A lot of folks will dress up as pirates - and why not! Catch a panga (pay the driver) to get to shore for lunch at the El Dorado restaurant (your choice - you're paying!) And then it's all back through the surf and a 2pm prompt start (well sort of prompt) for the run back. Hopefully weather conditions will be perfect to fly the spinnakers. If you've got a boat, come in your own boat, doesn't matter if you don't have a spinnaker, it's the participation that counts!

Alternatively, make your own way to Punta Mita and ride a big cat back to Paradise. The cat Profligate will be on this part of the trip. The Captain is the owner of the prestigious West Coast magazine Latitude 38 - and you might get your photo in his publication.

All money raised by the Pirates For Pupils Spinnaker Sail goes to help the Centro de Atencion Multiplo school in Puerto Vallarta.

Event coordinator Veronica (Ronnie) Barker told BanderasNews "The school is an official Mexican State registered school on Calle Pez Vela in Puerto Vallarta. We have previously supported this school, with donations received, by equipping a classroom with 20 computers, desks and chairs. We paid for the upgrade of their toilet and shower facilities. We have donated stationery and therapeutic supplies. They have received assistance from Round Table for the completion of their hydro therapy pool. We do not give the school any money - we use funds received to purchase such items as the Principal says they need."

"This is a great chance to spend time on the water for a very reasonable cost, have a really fun day and best of all help some kids who really need it", Barker added.

Ronnie asks that in order to guarantee your place on a big cat, please email: abmarine@hotmail.com, marking your email: Pirates for Pupils.
