Erotic art by leading artists will be on display in Puerto Vallarta from October 1st-8th during the second annual Sensual and Erotic Art Walk. Designed to be a social experience, the Erotic Art Walk encourages groups of people to walk from gallery to gallery to view works that, because of their nature, are rarely on public display.

This project, sponsored by the Lifestyles Organization in Southern California, allied the XART Gallery in Los Angeles with Mexico's Artistas Visuales del Erotismo and the Puerta Vallarta Department of Culture in joining with all of Puerto Vallarta's most important art galleries.

Held in conjunction with the week-long, clothing optional, all-inclusive Lifestyles International Convention at the Hola Hotel & Spa in Puerto Vallarta, the city-wide exhibit, entitled "Latin Visions: The Sensual & Erotic," will feature art created by contemporary Mexican artists who utilize the sensual and erotic nature of being human as their subject matter.

Erotic art has been said to provide the clearest picture of a given time and place. Indeed those very elements in Latin American culture have assured a place of prominence in its art. The context in which such work is produced and sold reveals the fantasies, the impulses and the significant power of sex in daily life. And, since Puerto Vallarta is a sensualist’s dream, there's no better place to display erotic art.

In an effort to surpass last year's Puerto Vallarta Erotic Art Walk, Dr. Robert McGinley, together with curators Theresa and Luis De La Cruz, are already formulating a plan to expand the collection of sensual and erotic art that will be featured not only in art galleries, but also in public spaces.

This year they are planning a city-wide exhibition featuring the work of: Aníbal Angulo, Pilar Bañuelos, Francisco Cabello, Sergio Solís Calderón, Panch Cárdenas, Rogelio Cuellar, Héctor (Eko) de la Garza, Armando Eguiza, José Antonio Farrera, Luis Gal, Rigel Herrera, Hector Garcia M, José Montiel Lona, Héctor Montiel Lona, Arturo Montiel Lona, Juan Carlos Monroy, Héctor Olvera, José Antonio Platas Olvera, Francisco Cabello, Elvira Sarmiento, Antonio Sobarzo, Alfonso Soriano, Martín Téllez, Luciano Sánchez Tual, Jorge Vargas Villicana and Alejandro Zenker.

Art installments will be on display in public spaces such as City Hall, The Cuale Art Center and Los Mangos Library, as well as in some of the finest Art Galleries in Puerto Vallarta, [all within walking distance of each other,] including: Galeria Corsica, Galeria Vallarta, Galleria Dante, The Loft, Galería Pacífico, Galería Uno, Galeria 8 y mas, Galeria Omar Alonso and Javier Niño Gallery.

The event's Official Opening and Press Reception will take place on Wednesday, October 4th at 8 pm at Los Mangos Library, where you'll enjoy cocktails and hour d'oeuvres provided by Lifestyles Mexico, live music performances, and a chance to meet the artists, city authorities and other local celebrities. Participating galleries in downtown will also host a cocktail party on this evening.
