Toys for Tots 2006-2007 Events and Fundraisers
email this pageprint this pageemail usJerry Lafferty - PVNN

100% of proceeds from the fundraisers will be used to buy toys at steeply discounted prices from a Guadalajara distributor.
Would you believe it's that time of the year to begin planning our annual distribution of toys to the neediest kids of PV during the holiday season? Last year we handed out more than 8,000 toys, and we are tentatively planning to increase to at least 12,000 toys this year. This will mark the 8th straight year of impressive growth, from a modest 700 toys in the 1st year of our program in 2000.

Mark your calendars for our major fundraisers - a charity golf outing at the Vista Vallarta course on December 9th at noon, and a gala dinner dance at the Marriott on December 10th starting at 6:30 pm. The golf scramble will cost $100 USD (around $1100 pesos) per player, and the dinner dance will be priced at $65 USD ($750 pesos) - the same price as last year!

Both are unusually good values, particularly the dinner dance, which includes not only a gourmet dinner prepared by Marriott's award winning chef, but all beverages (including alcoholic) for the entire evening, a great dance band, door prizes galore, and an exciting silent auction.

Those who've attended in the past rate it the "not to miss" social event of the winter season. Tickets will be available in early November at the IFC Clubhouse, the Marriott concierge, the Marina and Vista pro shops, and from any member of the Navy League. Or simply call Jerry Lafferty at 221-6156.

This year, we are pleased to announce that our impressive list of sponsors includes for the first time Scotiabank-Inverlat, which has pledged $250,000 pesos for 2006. Please keep these people in mind when making banking decisions, along with our continuing sponsors - Marriott CasaMagna Resort, Vista Vallarta Golf Club, Coldwell Banker/La Costa Real Estate, Continental Airlines, and TaylorMade-Adidas Golf Company.

Because of our generous sponsors, 100% of proceeds from the fundraisers will be used to buy toys at steeply discounted prices from a Guadalajara distributor. So please do plan to attend, to allow us to put even more smiles on the faces of the poorest kids of PV. Also plan to assist with the toy distribution on Three Kings Day. Your life will be as brightened as those of the kids getting totally unexpected toys.
