For more than 10 years, Galleria Dante has been featuring the works of Mexican and International artists - and this year is no exception! Their first show of the season, held on Nov 15th, was a huge success, giving us a taste of things to come.

Galeria Dantes' “Meet the Artists Nights,” held twice monthly on Wednesday evenings, give everyone the chance to rub shoulders with renowned artists, view their newest works and enjoy a pleasant evening of culture, camaraderie and complimentary cocktails.

This week, Joe and Claire Guarniere will be hosting their second “Meet the Artist Night” on Wednesday, November 29th, from 6 to 10 pm. In addition to some of the Local and International Artists showcased in their first event, 8 additional artists will be in attendance:

Gabriel Colunga – His unique style of depicting life in his whimsical bronze figures attracts many clients to listen to his stories. Sometimes shocking, sometimes tongue in cheek, sometimes histerical – one often makes up their own story to suit their mood. Most of Gabriel’s works are one of a kind.

Yvan Genest – Just back from a show in Los Angeles. Yvan’s paintings have taken another turn this year. After a fire forced him to move, he found in storage a small hand in silver that he has been given for luck, when he had lived in Tunisia with the nomadic Berbers in his twenties. His new series were inspired by this lucky charm.

Luis Valui – Always a favorite of any show. Luis’ paintings are passionate – full of movement and color. There is magic is his brush strokes - full of couples dancing, musicians, bicycles, campfires, moonlight, including lots of crabs, frogs and parrots. Whether watercolor or oils, it is hard not to have more than one favorite.

Pipo Brockman – New to Galleria Dante this season – Pipo’s works are refreshing: both his portraits of humans, as well as his portraits of Mexican hairless dogs. He is relaxed, his smile warm, his family and his dogs his models and his support. We are happy to have him join our team this season.

Andie Hathote – The little fireball from Arkansas. Andie has a unique style – her canvas is stark, her figures powerful, the writings on her paintings flow from within. Andie is a creature of nature and her art is part of that environment – her paintings tell her story and you get to know her through her paintings. They are one!

Jean-Gabriel Lambert – Vibrant color best describes the paintings by this sensitive French artist. His paintings, a mesh of strong brush strokes and vibrant colors are forceful. You feel his passion and love of life in his use of colors. This year he will also work in acrylics, whereas for years all his paintings were oils. This energetic, young man warms the heart of all who meet him.

Juana Cortez – Photo realism at it’s best. Juana loves to paint Mexican portraits of children and adults in their every day life. Juana has only been painting for a few years, but she is inspired by her husband’s talent and has the support of her children, who are also great artists.

Oscar Solis - His paintings of Africans and animals, especially his horses are a favorite of all visitors to the gallery. His wife Juana Cortez is always at his side. He has been painting for many years from murals to portraits. Juana and Oscar have been a great addition to Galleria Dante this past year.

Throughout the season, there will be many artists attending these events - some of the internationally acclaimed artists that have been with the gallery for years, and some talented new artists that Claire and Joe will proudly introduce to Vallarta.
