Lovely 15 year old Vanessa Parra with Mom and Dad, Alejandra and Martin.

That's just a few of the gifts from early arrival that Vanessa received.

Proud Papa Martin dances the traditional first dance with his lovely daughter.

Padrino Ruben Fregoso dances with Vanessa.

Vanessa wearing her Grandfather's cowboy hat enjoys her dance with Antonio Estrada.

Even the Tepic crowd from Club Britania made the journey for the fiesta.
Vanessa Parra, daughter of Canto Del Sol Tennis Director Martin Parra celebrated her Quinceañera this past Saturday in Colonia Los Gaviotas. It has been quite a year for Vanessa and family as they recently traveled to Europe and now she was able to celebrate turning fifteen years of age.

In Mexico, the fifteenth birthday celebration for girls, known as the Quinceañera, is the celebration that converts a girl into a responsible woman; considered eligible for work and marriage. More than just a party, this is a celebration of womanhood, which helps the girl prepare for the responsibility of growing up.

On her special day, Vanessa looked stunning in her long gown and the crowd was a mix of family, friends, co-workers of Martin, co-workers of her Mom Alejandra and a large group of tennis friends. The crowd started to gather at 2 pm and kept growing, as is traditional in Mexico.

In total, there were close to 200 close friends and family in a real Puerto Vallarta social event. The food was superb and Martin even wore a black suit, quite unlike his traditional tennis attire. The main table had a multitude of gifts for Vanessa and out came a delicious triple tired cake, much to Vanessa's approval.

The traditional first dance was Vanessa with her Dad, followed by her two Padrinos, Ruben Fregoso and Salvador Olvera. The came her grandfather Antonio Estrada complete with Mexican cowboy hat that Vanessa also put on. Following them were all the Parra brothers, Avelardo, Tony and Oscar.

All of Vanessa's friends were decked out to the hilt and one would never believe the groups of youngsters were only fifteen and sixteen, but when one gets to the age of this writer, it sure is hard to tell anymore. Felicidades, Vanessa and to the Parra family. I would suspect the nest time Martin wears a black suit will be at Vanessa's wedding. Now its back to promoting some big tennis tournaments for Martin at the Canto Del Sol Resort and Tennis Club, and time for Vanessa to enjoy all her gifts.
