On February 21, 2007 workshop Director Lucille Shipley and artist Cassandra Shaw presented the Los Mangos Public Library president, María José Zorrilla, with a check for $10,920 pesos representing a portion of the sale price of participants' artwork at the annual Lucille Shipley Workshop exhibition in January.

Participating artists, Pat, Janice, Sybil, Mary, Barbara, Frankie, Edwige, Rosa, Janet, Mila, Shirley, Heidi, Claire and Gloria were happy to help the library serve the needs of Vallarta's residents.

The Puerto Vallarta Public Library is not only a valuable resource for our educational institutions but is also a center for promoting cultural activities in our growing city, providing community services such as language courses, piano lessons and summer courses for children as part of their academic requirements.

María José advised the group that the Library now has over 4000 English language books to compliment their ever expanding Spanish books and other programs. Make sure to visit the library and check the variety of programs it offers.

Biblioteca Los Mangos is located at Av. Francisco Villa # 1001, and is open every Monday through Friday from 9 am to 9 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm. For more information, call 224-9966.
