Last week, Local Celebrity Pamela Thompson, shown here with June Rosen earrings raffle prize winner Tik, raised $3200 pesos for New Life Mexico.
On November 28th, stop by Banana Cantina to help support the Puerto Vallarta Navy League's programs - from Toys for Tots to transporting medical supplies to Vallarta and working with visiting mariners in sprucing up local schools, libraries and orphanages.

This week's raffle includes prizes donated by Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, gift certificates from Mama Dolores and Tabu, tickets for two for Those Oldies But Goodies from the new non-profit Theatre Group Curtain Call.

It really is great - people helping people. These Charity Nights, the Guest Hosts, the people that run the charities, all that attend and those generous souls that donate raffle prizes continue to awe us.

The first Banana Cantina Local Celebrity Charity Night of the season, which took place on November 7th, was a huge success. Together we raised $6990 pesos for AUTISM02, a non-profit clinic with a Hyperbaric Chamber for those with MS, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, stroke and many other serious ailments.

Candace of Fishing with Carolina was great, with that wonderful smile and personality no one could refuse to buy a raffle ticket or 3. Kerri's explanation of the clinic and the hyperbaric chamber and all of it's uses and success stories awed everyone.

The wonderful raffle prizes so generously donated were: Earrings from Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, a bracelet from Kim's Jewelry, AUTISMO2 T-shirts, a $400 peso gift certificate from Archie's Wok, a $200 peso gift certificate from Quimixto Sur Tacos and a 2x1 dinner certificate from Mama Dolores.

Candace has scheduled four more Wednesday nights to host for this very worthy cause, December 19, January 30th, March 12th and April 23rd, please mark your calendars.

On November 14th, bANANaCANtiNA and Guest Hostess Felicia from Wisconsin, together with Terry's Alternative Travel Group, raised the roof and $5100 pesos for baby Felipe's family to cover medical and travel expenses. The nephew of three Banana Cantina staff members, baby Felipe was born with congenital heart defects.

On November 21st, Pamela Thompson and all our patrons raised $3200 pesos for New Life Mexico. Philipa and Pamela were able to share about New Life and the programs for the Street Boys and the new one for Pregnant Teens and recruit new supporters. December 12th is the next Charity Night for New Life Mexico.

Local Celebrity Nights are VERY popular so call Banana Cantina, the Virtual Vallarta Reader's Choice Award winner for "Best New Restaurant" in 2006 and "Best Moderately Priced Restaurant" in 2007, at 222-2114 to make reservation.
