Bahia de Banderas Municipality Director of Tourism, Hector Sahagun.

Director of Economic Development for the Bahia de Banderas Municipality, Oscar Valenzuela.

To help area residents understand what is, and will be, happening in the Riviera Nayarit, two officials from the Bahia de Banderas Municipality will be presenting a program at the Amigos de Bucerias, A.C. monthly speaker night on December 5th.

Tourism is a big business in the north Banderas Bay area. Everywhere you look there are new projects under construction - hotels, condos, marinas and new shopping centers.

Rumors fly about what will be happening in the Riviera Nayarit. Sometimes it seems there is no rhyme or reason to the development.

Does the government have any plan for the future of the area?

To help area residents understand what the government is doing, two officials from the Bahia de Banderas municipality will be presenting a program and answering questions at the next Amigos de Bucerias, A.C. monthly speaker night.

On Wednesday, December 5th at 7 pm (Jalisco time) Hector Sahagun, Director of Tourism and Oscar Valenzuela, Director of Economic Development, are scheduled to speak.

Sahagun describes part of the function of his office is to help ensure a balance between providing an excellent experience for tourists and maintaining the quality of life for local residents.

Valenzuela's office helps local entrepreneurs who desire to start their own small business, small businesses who want to expand, and larger businesses that are ready to become even bigger. The department of Economic Development provides classes, technical assistance and help with procuring financing.

The program is sure to provide some good information to area residents and visitors. It is free and open to everyone who would like to attend.

The program will be at the Bucerias Bilingual Community Center, located at Calle 16 de Septiembre. From highway 200, go two blocks on Matamoros (the ice house street) and turn right. It is in the middle of the block, on the right. For more information, call Harold at 329-298-2053.
