Puerto Vallarta - This Wednesday from 7-11 pm, Harriet Cochran Murray of Cochran Real Estate, a broker and Buyer Specialist with 25 years experience in the real estate industry will be hosting Local Celebrity Charity Night at BananaCantina to raise funds for New Life Mexico's Street Boys and Pregnant Teen programs.

New Life Mexico (NLM) is a British Charity that supports children and young people in Mexico who have been physically, sexually or emotionally abused.

NLM works in partnership with Dirección de Protección a la Infancia (child protection services), a division of DIF (social services) Puerto Vallarta on seven programs:

• ESCI (Child Sexual Exploitation)
• Albergue Vida Nueva (New Life Street Kid Shelter)
• Red Juvenil (Kids at Risk)
• PROPADETIUM (Working Kids)
• Prevencion y Atencion Integral del Embarazo en Adolecentes (PAIDEA - Pregnant Teenage Program)
• Programa 10-14 (Primary School Education for Kids aged 10-14)
• PAFIC (Children with parents in prison)

The small team of dedicated local staff and volunteers at New Life Mexico are making a difference in these children's lives - and you can help!

As you can imagine their needs are many, but very basic. Soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, washcloths, deodorant, vitamins, shoes, socks... No donation is too small - one toothbrush is the difference between a child or a teen parent cleaning their teeth or not.

For more information about the programs at New Life Mexico please visit NewLifeMexico.com or send an email to Philippa Vernon-Powell at pvp(at)newlifemexico.com.

It’s EASY... come in and have dinner with us, (each week, BananaCantina donates 10% of the night's dinner sales to the host's chosen charity,) purchase a raffle ticket or two for your chance to win jewelry from Cassandra Shaw, gift certificates from Mama Dolores and Encuentros Lounge and other fabulous prizes and have a great time - for a good cause!

Local Celebrity Nights are VERY popular so call Banana Cantina, the Virtual Vallarta Reader's Choice Award winner for "Best New Restaurant" in 2006 and "Best Moderately Priced Restaurant" in 2007, at 222-2114 to make your reservations.

Located on the corner of Pulpito and Amapas in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, Banana Cantina Restaurant serves creative Contemporary Mexican and International Cuisine in an eclectic, yet comfortable, atmosphere. For more information, visit BananaCantina.com.
