The Builders Association of South Florida has honored ICON Vallarta, a new $200 million luxury development in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with 12 BEST Awards, giving industry recognition to the project’s quality, craftsmanship, and the innovative interior design work of Yoo by Philippe Starck.

ICON Vallarta’s developer, Related International, received top honors in a number of categories. ICON Vallarta’s Casita single-family models and its Tower 3 (The Grand Tower) as a whole each received a Builder’s Overall Product BEST award. In addition, The Grand Tower was honored with BEST awards for its Architecture, Interior Design, Bath and Overall Building quality. The judges also were impressed with the project as a whole and awarded Related International three awards for Builders Overall Product, Architecture and Interior Design. The awards pay tribute to the talents of interior designer Yoo by Philippe Starck and exterior designer Bernardo Fort-Brescia of the architectural firm Arquitectonica.

“The fact that ICON Vallarta was honored in so many categories is a testament to the high standards we have achieved,” said Jorge Perez, chairman of The Related Group, Related International’s parent company. “Mexico has never seen anything like this project and will never again see anything like it in the future.”

Related International also won BEST awards for its ICON Vallarta Website, Direct Mail and Brochure.

ICON Vallarta will be comprised of full-ownership, luxury condominiums situated on five acres of stunning oceanfront property with exclusive beach access, and located just minutes from downtown Vallarta’s world class restaurants and galleries. The resort will retain the trendy, hip and modern flavor of The Related Group’s other ICON properties, ICON Brickell and ICON South Beach in Miami. Like ICON Vallarta, both were created by renowned design firm Yoo by Philippe Starck, which has fashioned numerous chic Ian Schrager hotels as well as the Delano Hotel in Miami Beach. The three, 26-story towers of ICON Vallarta will feature unexpected design elements and a whimsical yet luxurious flair that play off its natural surroundings. The resort recently announced the launch of its third and final tower, The Grand Tower, an exclusive enclave that will include 75 trendy, ultra-luxurious, three- and four-bedroom luxury condominiums and penthouses affording the ultimate in comfort and style.

Florida’s BEST Awards is a premier building industry competition for builders, architects, interior designers, landscape architects, advertising/marketing and real estate professionals. The awards evaluate products and professionals in the building industry in more than two dozen categories. Entries are judged by an independent panel of building industry experts from around the nation and outside of Florida
