BanderasNews food writer and Puerto Vallarta restaurant reviewer, Gary R. Beck, recently announced the release of the first 2009 edition of his popular Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Guide, Beck's Best, which includes reviews of Banderas Bay area restaurants.

After 20+ years in the restaurant business, I have learned much about enjoying and preparing tasty food.
Since June 2005, Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Guide Beck's Best has progressed from a small document emailed for free into the largest, most up-to-date dining guide in the PV and Banderas Bay Area.
For many years, I have hiked from spot to spot, dining, taking notes and pictures, talking to owners and managers. Though fun and rewarding, it had gotten quite costly figuring in the food, beverages, airfares, rentals and taxis.
Since my Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Guide is edited almost daily, which greatly benefits both visitors and residents, many people told me it was time for me to collect a small compensation for my work. But, to me, the guide is more a "Labor of Love" than a job. I do not receive free meals, nor accept advertisement, I do it because of my passion for good food.
In addition to authoring the Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Guide,Beck's Best, I am also a food columnist for BanderasNews.com, have been published in most every Puerto Vallarta area English language newspaper and magazine, and have recorded a radio program for Paco Ojeda's the VU.
