Organized by Adriana & Gabbi Paz in September 2009, Mama Vallarta is a Puerto Vallarta non-profit foundation created to provide free food and support to misfortunate women, men, children and elderly people who are vulnerable and have nothing to eat.

The Mama Vallarta Free Kitchen is open from 1 pm to 7 pm everyday, feeding everyone in need of a hot meal, but their focus is on children and old folks. The free kitchen, located at Luis Donaldo Colosio #306 in Colonia Remance provides free meals to 50 to 80 children daily (more all the time!)

Mama Vallarta also assists the needy by supplying them with the basic necessities, such as everyday clothes and clothing suitable for employment interviews, and a Food Bank for those who need help putting food on the tables in their homes.

Please Help! If you have used clothes or household items that you're going to throw away please donate them to the Mama Vallarta charity. Donations needed include the use of a car or truck, a computer, new or used kitchen items, plates, glasses, tables, chairs, napkins, toilet paper, sheets, blankets, towels, beans, rice, pasta, milk, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, consomme, oatmeal, cooking oil, tomato sauce, cleaning supplies, baby formula, diapers, Tang (or any) drink mix, funds, food, food & food!

A second location in Magisterio (the poorest area of Vallarta, near the garbage dump) will be opening on November 15, 2009, and plans are being made to open a Bazaar where donated items will be sold to help fund both Mama Vallarta Free Kitchens, so any help you can give would be a blessing.

Please help if you are able. Thanks to Mama Vallarta disadvantaged people in Vallarta now have a place to turn for help. For more information, call (322) 221-5074 or 044-322-101-6936 or send an email to MamaVallarta(at)yahoo.com.
